BodyTalk – Are you Listening?

Balance by Laurie Buchanan

Balance by Laurie Buchanan

BodyTalk is an astonishingly simple and effective holistic therapy that allows the body’s energy systems to be re-synchronized so they can operate as nature intended.

Each system, cell, and atom is in constant communication with each other at all times. Through exposure to the stresses of day-to-day life, however, these lines of communication can become compromised or disconnected, which then leads to a decline in physical, emotional, and/or mental well-being. Reconnecting these lines of communication enables the body’s internal mechanisms to function at optimal levels, thus repairing and preventing disease while rapidly accelerating the healing process. In this way, BodyTalk stimulates the body’s innate ability to balance and heal itself on all levels—body, mind and spirit.

BodyTalk can be used as a stand alone system to treat many chronic and acute health problems, or can be seamlessly integrated with any healthcare regimen to increase its overall effectiveness. BodyTalk’s major assets are its simplicity, safety, and the speed of results.

BodyTalk is non-invasive, objective in application, and works effectively on humans and animals alike.

If a BodyTalk technique is implemented incorrectly, there will be no result or change; it will not make things worse. Because of this built-in safety factor, anyone who receives BodyTalk has nothing to lose and everything to gain as far as his or her health and wellness is concerned.

The BodyTalk practitioner in my geographic area is Kris Freeman. She’s the owner of Freedom Therapies. Even if you’re not in the Crystal Lake, Illinois area, you can find out a lot more about this wonderful energy-based modality by looking through her website.

A BodyTalk Access seminar will be held at HolEssence on August 22, 2010. For details, follow this LINK.

  1. Another evolution of energy healing… very interesting process, it seems that the practitioner and client need to communicate more with the body in a more attuned way.
Thank you for sharing this modality with us!

    I am Love, Jeff

    • I’m glad you stopped by class this morning, Jeff — and on a weekend, too! I hope you take your camera with you wherever you go today and that you get some extraordinary shots. Kathy of of Lake Superior Spirit has issued a DARE! That we walk some place that we’ve never walked before. I don’t know if I can manage that today, but I will tomorrow if not — and I’m taking my camera with me to prove it.

    • Barbara – In alphabetical order I will get to tapping (EFT — Emotional Freedom Technique) soon. There are so many wonderful energy-based modalities. And it’s a pleasure for me to be able to point to wonderful practitioners who offer these services. I’m glad you stopped by. I know you’re watching the French Open Men’s Final today — enjoy!

  2. Yes Laurie, I have read Kathy’s blog and mentioned her in mine as well as have taken up the mantel of the dare, which was already in my mind/spirit.

    I am Love, Jeff

  3. Thanks for the information Laurie.
I was especailly interested in the “Breakthrough” information and asked her to send more info.

    Thanks
Amanda and I are watching a movie. Joe and Mike are at the picnic, cooking burgers and hot dogs. Oreoz is watching outside for any lions, tigers, or bears…hes very diligent at watching for anything that comes around.

    Have a good afternoon. Kim

    • Kim – Yesterday we found a few windows of opportunity to jump through between downpours to do more yard work. We grocery shopped during one of the downpours. Man, you shoulda heard the way it sounded on the roof at the store — it sounded like marbles inside a hub cap barreling down the street lickity-split!

  4. Having just been to a BodyTalk day-long workshop a few weeks ago, I can attest to everything that you’ve said here, Laurie.

(Do let me know when you’ve walked into the Unknown. I love that you are so willing to follow dares…)

    • Kathy – As I was posting this piece I thought about the fact that you’d recently atended a BodyTalk workshop. Today I’m going to try to find a place I’ve never been and get a photograph. If I can manage to pull it off, I’ll post the photo on my website, and then put a link to it on yours so you can see it. I have two places in mind; one is more doable than the other.

  5. Hi Laurie

Haven’t come across Body Talk, and we have had quite a bit of experience with EFT, AK, and Mind Body work.

They all work after their fashion – all part of the Placebo effect – whatever it is. I suspect there are many layers, many mechanisms to it.

I suspect that one of the keys to it is the contexts that the subconscious stores with experiences, and the tendency of the human brain, under stress, to activate the strongest contextual response, without reference to the conscious mind.

Thus, we get to replay these stored responses to contexts, over and over and over.
There seems to be two basic classes of actions we can consciously take to alter this.

One involves training the consciousness to awareness of impending stress, and training ourselves to divert the onset of stress consciously, to consciously de-stress.

The other involves re-programming the memories, creating new contexts so that if the situation triggers, it will trigger the new context, not the old one.

Both strategies work, to a degree.

The real problems within each of us are usually associated with extreme trauma events, which often invoke a form of conscious amnesia, which makes it very difficult for the conscious to work on these deep level memories.

We are each of us in for an interesting time.

    • Ted – I really like the way you describe the two basic classes of actions we can consciously take. “We are each of us in for an interesting time.” I couldn’t agree with you more. Each day is an adventure. Whether we’re drawing breath and living life as we currently know it, or whether we’re not drawing breath, but our energy is in a different dimension.” Yes, we’re each of us in for an interesting time.

  6. Laurie, I ADORE the pictures you took! I love that you went to a church and explored there. And even though that robin photo wasn’t part of the assignment, it is INCREDIBLE!! Thank you for playing along. You are the bestest sport in the whole world. 🙂

  7. Body talk… hummm Laurie – is it tapping or is it more than that? I still feel unclear as to what it is.

Note: I missed Kathy’s dare as I haven’t been online much lately. but I have been out an about with my camera everyday. Sometimes a walk is new not by location but by time of day as in my evening Dinner Bay photo today on my Creative Potager post.

    • Terrill – I’ll have Kris Freeman (BodyTalk practitioner) come out and give an example. It’s different than tapping (EFT – Emotional Freedom Technique, which we’ll get to shortly, as I’m presenting some energy-based modalities in alphabetical order). By the way, expect a big crowd — I just sent everyone to your home for lunch/dinner. That was a great recipe you posted!

  8. Hello All,

Yes, BodyTalk is more than just tapping. The tapping is really used more as an initiation of the energetic equation that we put in place to be solved by your innate wisdom.

Yes, yes, yes, I know, what the hec am I talking about. Well here goes. BodyTalk is a system that was developed to work with the synchronicity of your already well established innate wisdom. Even as I write this post I am unaware of the myriad of processes going on behind the scenes of my body-mind complex. Using Kinesiology we then tap into your potential and are able to solve quite effectively the riddle to whatever imbalance you are looking to find relief in. The tapping helps to set the shifting in motion.

The richness of this system lies in the broad disciplines that are encompassed within it. We as practitioners are required to be well versed in anatomy and physiology, chinese medicine, quantum physics, body consciousness, brain psychology, the chakra system,. Having this broad knowledge base allows us to ask the right questions of the body-mind and unravel the many relationships that get set adrift due in large part to childhood programming.

I hope this helps. Please visit my website or feel free to call me with further questions 847-975-9406. The BodyTalk website http://www.bodytalksystem.com has some really good video footage of Dr. Veltheim (founder of this system) that goes into greater detail of BodyTalk.

    Blessings to All!!!

    • Kris – I’m so glad you stopped by, thank you. Thank you, too, for the link and your contact information should anyone want to wpeak with you directly.

  9. Hi Laurie, I’m so sorry to be missing these posts but will catch up when we’re back home. I too have experienced Body Talk and found it very helpful. Quite amazing, in fact. Looking forward to reading the rest of this series of posts!

  11. It doesn’t appear to have been discussed here and I doubt that the Access Teacher would have introduced the concept, but BodyTalk is also non-local.

Meaning: …because practitioners are working with the energetics, it is not necessary for practitioner and client to be co-located (in the same room).

There has been research done on babies in the womb and fathers, very interesting stuff. The mom (and baby, of course) would be on one coast of the US (let’s say San Francisco) and the dad would be in New York. The researchers would intentionally cause stress to the father and record the baby’s reactions.

Surprisingly (or not surprisingly?) when the father was stressed out, the baby also showed increased signs of stress – and they were on different coasts of the US!

Non-local healing is gaining more and more scientific research. Another good read on the subject is Lynne McTaggart’s The Field.

    With Love and Gratitude,

    Jeremiah

    • Jeremiah – I’m so glad for your comment and link. I’m a fan of Lynne McTaggart’s work, but this link was new to me so thank you! As a Reiki Master-Teacher I practice distance (non-local) work on a regular basis, but I hadn’t made the same connection with BodyTalk.
