With the publication of The Business of Being: Soul Purpose In and Out of the Workplace just two weeks away, I’ve used the month of June to enjoy a much slower version of life before I hit the ground running:

When I was in Joshua Tree, CA I saw this “hammock roundup” that five people can enjoy simultaneously.
On Eleuthera Island, the neighbors across the way enjoy a solo version of quietude.
And while we don’t have a hammock where we live, there’s a multitude of gentle choices. My three favorites are reading (dive headfirst into a book and don’t surface for a good, long while), restorative yoga, and walking the Boise River Greenbelt. We’re also just a stone’s throw from an arboretum, nature center, and park.
…we long-term leased the carriage house of one of the mansions in the Warm Springs Avenue Historic District. It perfectly suits our needs! We even donated our yard maintenance equipment because everything — and I do mean everything — is meticulously cared for.
My writing space is phenomenal! In addition to nonfiction work, this gorgeous view has triggered a spurt of fiction writing. My work in progress is titled Carriage House Journal — a series of short stories told in first person through the eyes of a mail carrier.
If you wrote a fiction story in first person, who would the main character be?
I may not have my restored data back yet, but the weather’s been nice, I’ve got my camera, and the Camedia software is loaded on the new hard drive on my laptop. So I went on a floral adventure along the section of the Prairie Bike Trail that goes through Crystal Lake. Then, I read the instructions on how to create a slideshow in a WordPress blog post.
My last post was on “Whine and Cheese” so I thought this one should be about beer — “This Bud’s for You.” Get it? Bud as in flowers. I crack myself up!
And while I thoroughly enjoy flowers, I don’t know many of them by type and name. I’m hoping our friend and Master Gardener, Sandi, will jump in and help me with that. Sandi – there are six photos: orange, periwinkle, pink, red, white, and yellow. If you would be so kind as to identify them for me, I’ll come back in and add the flower names to the captions (at least I think I can) …
