Funny Bones

My favorite thing on the planet is trees. Next is laughter. I love to laugh! It’s a great antidote to stress. As a Holistic Health Practitioner, I can share this fact with certainty: of the 206 bones in the human body, the most important one is the funny bone.

We’ve all heard the saying that “Laughter is the best medicine.” It really is. Just like a spoonful of sugar, laughter is easy to take. Possessing the same positive impact as inspiration, love, generosity, tolerance and respect, laughter is one of the many characteristics of Divine Love—Spirit. Simply put, laughter is good for the soul.

By the way, if you take the time to listen, you can hear the trees laugh too …

Listen with your heart,

Laurie Buchanan

  1. Those shoes are the best Laurie… I love to laugh, giggle, gently tease and play. I think it is why I worked with families and their preschool children for so many years. Part of my job was to teach children and their parents about laughter and play (plus good foods, organization, routines, but it was the laughter and play that made the other necessities easier)

    • Terrill – Aren’t the shoes hysterical?! As a motivational speaker I’ve walked on stage using a variety of different props — this jumbo-rama pair of shoes are among my favorites. I can so see you teaching children and parents about laughter and play. I remember seeing a VERY FUNNY photograph of your with your eyes crossed, sticking your tongue out!

  2. I too love laughter! I am trying my hardest to make sure my hubby is more aware as well. That is one of the qualities I married him for, his sense of humor, a true irishman with blarney!…..

He tries to be such a serious father, but deep down there is still that sense of fun, and laughter still there.
Example: We were laughing on the way home about his calves in his legs. I always said he had good legs and there must have been mention of that during his session! LOL

    • Kim – This morning when I asked your husband if he was ready, and he countered with, “The question is, are YOU ready?!” I could definitely see his sense of humor! We sure did talk about his calves (great shape) and IT Bands (tight – almost too much so). I said it’s like he’s a marathon bicyclist.

    • Kim – You waited until just before you came in?! Holy mackerel! I think he enjoyed the session — by the time we were done he seemed like a cooked spaghetti noodle!

    • Lindsey – I’m so glad you stopped by and left a comment, thank you. When I was about 9 years old the Disney movie, “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad World” came out. We went to the theater as a family. My dad laughed so hard that he was told he would have to leave if he couldn’t behave himself. My sister and I were mortified!

    • Mike – I’m glad I wasn’t drinking anything when I read your comment or it would have shot out my nose in laughter! I’m so glad you stopped by — thank you.
