Gemstone Affinities
Attuned to revolutionary Uranus, Aquarius is the most “cutting edge” sign. There’s something quirky and eccentric about these far-sighted and humanitarian people. It’s as though Aquarians not only see into the future, but want to bring it about—now! Blue Celestite aids in this goal, assisting assimilation of new ideas. Since the sign is ruled by Uranus, planet of change, and Saturn, planet of consolidation, Aquarius can be pulled in two directions at once. Blue Topaz and Angelite aid in balancing and aligning direction and purpose.
The Moon of Cleansing (Jan 20 – Feb 18)
This period is one of preparation. This is the time to make plans and tap into your creativity to unlock new areas of exploration. The influence is one of innovation.
Air Element
Aquarius is an air element—intelligent, communicative, sociable, versatile, and unpredictable. They bring intellect and a strong ability to communicate.
Energetic, friendly, and playful, talkative air signs may well be described as “Chatty Cathy.” Air shapes ideas. This is the world of intellectual perception and logical thought. Air is the element of discernment and analysis, of comment and dissection. It’s the mental element that thinks things through, but also has bright flashes of intuition. The air element is inventive and full of new ideas. Air signs need to express themselves verbally, for this is the element of communication.
A Fixed Sign
Aquarians are assertive, independent, progressive, and analytical. Original and inventive, they have very strong opinions about what they like and dislike.
Zodiac Compatibility
Aquarius in any relationship is a smart, fast, fun, and unconventional, but they’re most compatible with Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius.
Famous Aquarians
Famous Aquarians include Paul Newman (Jan 26), Oprah Winfrey (Jan 29), and Jennifer Aniston (Feb 11).
Do you have any Aquarians in your life?
For those of you in the United States, Happy Thanksgiving! And with that I’ll point you to last year’s Freshly Pressed G is for Gratitude – enjoy!

Interesting, how Zodiac signs rule different parts of the physical body. I never knew that before. Happy Thanksgiving, Laurie!
Kathy – Speaking of physical body…I sure hope that Barry is doing well after his recent surgery.
He’s off to work today in his shorts and bandaged knee. A little hard getting that left leg in the driver’s seat, but he did it. Thank you for the pod!
Kathy – I’m so glad he’s home giving it a rest. Thank you for letting me know 🙂
Oh, that powerful moon. That’s exactly how I feel in early February–like I’m preparing for something. I’m amazed. It seems I’ve been living by the zodiac–subconsciously. : )
Leanne – From your comments on the last two posts, it does indeed seem that you are very much a Lunar Lady 🙂
Hi,
This is my birthday sign. 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving.
Magsx2 – Aquarians are splendific! A wonderful combination of splendid and terrifice! 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Laurie. I’ve two Aquarians in my life: my daughter, Bethany (Jan 31), and my sister, Carol (Feb 17). In my humble opinion, they are both air-heads so it does not surprise me that they are air signs.
Barbara, thank you for laugh!
Barbara – You crack me up!
Laurie, you have just described my cousin Mike to a T. He is all of that and a little something more. He still wants to invent glass.
Sandi – I’m glad to know there was a correlation. I’ll be curious to know what Tabby is. She must be a sign that’s good at “roping the wind.” 🙂
My Father and youngest daughter are both of this sign and very social – my father was especially creative and intelligent. He was set to be Secretary of Education under President Kennedy when the assassination occurred. He brought our state to new levels of educational success that have been unmatched.
My youngest is just getting launched but social she is…!
I am reminding people about the gratitude gift I am giving this weekend on my blog site…something beautiful for a comment…have you seem my surprise?
http://www.patriciaswisdom.com I am sorry but I can not get the link to work while I am traveling
thank you Laurie I am grateful for all your sharing words and ideas
Patricia – Your Father sounds like he was an amazing man, and your youngest is about to test her wings. I’ve been to your blog site and I can say with certainty that it’s a gift well worth checking out 🙂
Hope you and Len had a very memorable Thanksgiving Day Laurie!
For the 17th year in a row, Lucille, the kids and I visited Lucille’s sister in a rural, mansion-sized house about an hour northwest of here, with the usual 60 or so people in attendance. The PC was off-limits for me, as well as it should be.
Lucille’s birthday is November 30, so she misses Aquarius. Always makes me think of the Fifth Dimension hit song.
Great to see you resurrecting this fascinating series.
Sam – The Thanksgiving get-together at your sister-in-law’s home sounds like it was a BIG blast (emphasis on BIG)! Like you, I well remember the Fifth Dimension singing, “This is the dawning of the age of aquarius, the age of aquarius, aquarius…aquarius.” Please extend birthday well-wishes to Lucille for me 🙂
This is my “Groundhog Day” Birthday sign and it really touches on so many of the Blue Brain attributes. I love the connection. Something we can discuss when we get together. Thank you for the insight, it is “fascinating and fun”!
Sheila – I’m so glad it resonated with you, thank you for letting me know 🙂
