Your book will be on my must-read list. I’m reading, Bush Runner: The Adventures of Pierre-Esprit Radisson by Mark Bourrie. It’s a biography of the Radisson of “Radisson and Groseilliers.” There was a lot more to that man than what I learned in my Grade 8 history class!

I’m reading The Book of God which is a novelization of the Bible, by one of my favorite writers, Walt Wangerin. He does an amazing job, too.

I just finished reading it! “The Bible as a Novel” is fascinating, and a lot easier than reading the Bible directly. 🙂 Unfortunately, a reminder of all of the violence that went on during those times is contained on one page after another!! Jan

Congratulations, Laurie! I just finished Jodi Picoult’s Leaving Time. I love elephants and this one was wonderful, but I need time to recover from it (whew! I didn’t see the ending coming that way), so am thumbing through magazines for now. Magazines…..mindless ‘reading.’

I just finished All the Light We Cannot See and now reading The Country Girl Empress, an ebook novel by an author friend Piper Burgi about the life of Empress “Sisi” of Austria. We have enjoyed Unorthodox, a Netflix miniseries loosely based on Deborah Feldman’s 2012 autobiography Unorthodox: The Scandalous Rejection of My Hasidic Roots.
Marian — I enjoyed reading “All the Light We Cannot See.” Thank you for the other recommendations, both books and miniseries. We don’t have Netflix, but you’d be amazed at what can be found on YouTube and Amazon Prime. 🙂

When does your book come out??
RoseAnn — It was originally supposed to come out this June, but my publisher (She Writes Press) decided to publish all of their fiction titles under their SparkPress imprint, so it’s going to be later. I’m sooooooo glad that what initially felt like a “glitch” has happened. Hopefully the COVID-19 pandemic will be in the rearview mirror by the time Indelible hits the shelves.
Slogging through the final pages of “The Count of Monte Cristo.” Better than I expected it to be, but my goodness, Dumas could have used a good editor!

It’s a beast! I can only read about an hour at a time before my brain begins to fog up. 🙂 Example: this book has more semicolons in one chapter than I’ve ever used in all my writing since I learned how to use semicolons. Also, I counted the number of words in one long sentence I noticed–out of curiosity–. More than 100 words. 😦
Just started All the Places I have Taken my Body by Molly Brown (review book) Just finished THE POWER by Naomi Adelman (not sure of the last name, went back to Library today) Wow that one will knock your socks off Margaret Atwood wrote the forward! Laurie, I feel like Indelible has been a long time in coming, in fact, I know it has. I’ll be glad to see it hit the market and take off running on it’s own legs. Considering the interesting times we are in, and being a reader of vast amount of informational facts and theories, I am sitting back and enjoying a cup of hot tea and small plate of shortbread with Miss Read of the Village School and Thrush Green. As comforting as warm, buttered gingerbread, Miss Read’s books about rural English village life are a brief respite from the storms outside the windows. Self-isolation doesn’t have anything on a cozy book!
Sandi — I agree with you that books about rural English village life are perfect right now! As you know, I recently finished one about an Irish village. I fell in love with the whole little town!
Laurie, the carrot is Tremendous and I hope your new book project will be a Tremendous success! I am reading “The Moment of Lift: How Empowering Women Changes the World” by Melinda Gates for our non-fiction library book club, that will not be meeting for several months.
