Hotdog, hothouse, hot tub, hot sauce, and hothead — to name but a few words whose common denominator is “hot.”
On the way home from a trip to Salt Lake City, we stopped at a natural hot spring. I don’t know the exact temperature, but it was far from tepid. In this instance, “hot” was an accurate descriptor. I assure you that I was close to having HOT CROSS BUNS!

It has been hot here, mid to high 30 C (95 plus F) So I feel like I have hot cross buns as well. You look like you are enjoying yourself.

Our hot ticket, is escaping typical August heat for a long-awaited trip to Alaska. Now I’m afraid I’ll be often chilly up there, but bring it on! Packing sweaters ‘cuz the weather reports are for 50s and 60sF. P.S. Lovely photo.

We reached 41C here in southern France a couple of days ago; so uncomfortable, we had to resort to a hosepipe to cool off.

Florida is HOT May – October. I’m staying cool with the breeze of a fan at my feet edging toward book launch.
Still, I like a daily hot bath, and would join you in a second in your “hot buns” setting. Heat is relaxing to my muscles.
Random thought: In the 1940s and 50s, polio victims would travel to Hot Springs, GA for treatment.
Correction: It’s Warm Springs, GA, where FDR lived in a “Little White House” to take treatment for polio. A Mennonite minister I knew about long ago went there for similar treatment.

My mom was born in 1938 and contracted polio when she was seven (1945). I don’t believe she ever had the opportunity to visit a hot springs — I think she would have enjoyed that very much! 🙂

Laurie did I giggle with your hot cross buns! We are warm for us here on the southwest coast of Canada but nothing like other places and it cooled off about midnight and was lovely and fresh this morning. I went plein air painting yesterday morning but it is the windows this morning – I must wash or at least start the washing process on the windows as it usually takes me two days because they are so huge and so many. But the hottest ticket item I have right now is fall oil painting classes that I can now offer online. How fun is that!? – 10 weeks 10 classes, video notes exercises and quizzes all organized and presented on a teaching platform.

I visited a hot springs in Colorado this month while on vacation … and wowsers, some of those pools were just too hot for me! Hot cross buns is right!
Candace — You’re right. I had to dip my toe in a few before I found one that I could tolerate. Once I got used to it, it was great. But that first few minutes was Y-O-W-Z-A!
Heat makes me sleepy, so I try to stay cool. No hot tickets over here!
Relax — Heat makes me sleepy, too. “Goldilocks” (not too hot, not too cold) is my favorite temperature 🙂

In 2007, when I was in northern Iceland, I visit the hot springs. Getting in was so lovely, but getting out… My energy was completely zapped. I’d been warned not to stay in the hot springs too long, but… it was just so lovely.

It’s been so hot here in West Wales ( yes you have heard right 😆) that the rock pools have been warm , I wouldn’t say hot like your amazing hot spring ( love the swim suit by the way).

We enjoy the hot, lazy days of summer.
We thought we would need jackets in Nova Scotia this summer, but instead we needed shorts. For Nova Scotia temps in the 80s are HOT. No AC. So one afternoon we filled stainless steel bowls with water and sat on the deck. Kids loved it!

The hottest ticket for us now is our second short film which miraculously and unexpectedly was selected to screen twice in Manhattan’s Walter Reade Theater as part of the 57TH ANNUAL NEW YORK FILM FESTIVAL, which is one of the country’s most prestigious venues. The NYFF is also the nation’s oldest festival. The film “The Thing That Kills Me the Most” features Yours Truly as the main character and also stars my family in a work culled from footage shot in my home over sixteen years ago. The satiric film, directed by my good friend Jay Giampietro is our second short to make a major festival this year, with our previous “Best Picture” landing in the celebrated BAM Fest months back. We are all over the moon and the “hot tickets” will be going on sale for the October 6th and October 10th screenings at Lincoln Center in the same festival where Martin Scorsese’s “The Irishman” is debuting!
