Ok, so technically I’m a Cancer (my Sun is anyway) altho I’m sort of ruled by Gemini. What we have here is a mess. I love being home, cooking, doing all the crafts, gardening – but then zap – the Gemini butterfly takes over and I’m all over the place. Real conflict earlier in my life with staying home with kids versus working. I did part time stuff but always felt conflicted. I get told a lot I’m quite a character, whatever they mean by that I’m not sure. Heavens blessed me with a Virgo husband. He drives me nuts tho, Mr. Exact Precise.
This has been fun reading the signs – and by the way, all my bestest friends have been Libra! 🙂

Two of these folks at my house….Husband July 11 and Librarian Girl July 22 – both are extremely sensitive, artistic and home loving. Librarian Girl has wanted a house and a yard, a baby and a dog all with the most loving of spouses just about all her life. She has built two lovely doll houses and furnished them with home made furniture and lovely pieces from England ( She has the Queen’s private parlor tea set and miniatures) She is rather a Pied Piper drawing small children to her – especially little boys
My husband is an architect and although he does not design many houses these days – he does lots of GREEN work and sustainable work and has made our 100 year old house into a work of art and efficiency.
Both my true Cancerians have Celiac Disease – so I spent most of my time creating and cooking healthy foods to keep them going and working up to speed….it is very hard to keep weight on and anxiety levels stable. They are remarkable people.
So many of my family are on the cusp…..sometimes I am a Virgo being on the 23rd of August….and Librarian Girl and I have some troubles when our LEOish sides confront
as with IT Girl on June 20th

Water signs need time to withdraw, to process emotional experiences, and then to reemerge into the world. (Yep, have seen this pattern again and again…and I think my shell is calling to move inward again…)

Kathy – I know you’ve been waiting. You’ve got a lot of “checks” and for that I’m glad. As to “cautions” — looking before you leap in physical things is a good idea. And if you look up “shrewd” in your online thesaurus and you’ll find: “astute, sharp, on the ball, smart, perceptive, insightful, and wise: You’re shrewd as the day is long 🙂
As for that “shell” — I see it a bit differently on you. I see it as somewhat of a mantle, or beautiful cloak. Sometimes the wind blows the fabric away from you, but when it’s still, it covers you a bit more.

Laurie,this is odd, becauses the two Cancerians in my family are both Green Brainers. They do not seem to fit into this description at all, except for “The influence is one of exploration.”
They both are “explore ideas and facts to gain knowledge.” Hmmmm You’ve got me stumped on this one, which seems to have more “Blue Brain” attributes.

Laurie, I spent a good part of yesterday with my own little Cancerian. While my daughter Cameron is usually the spirit of cheerful determination, willing and able to jump on any task and whip right through it, yesterday she was very Crabby indeed. Nearing the eighth month of pregnancy, she is sincerely tired of it, tired of being uncomfortable, tired and impatient with everything. Her usual sunny disposition is clouded over with discontent and a desire to be done with it. Tomorrow will be her son Joey’s 7th birthday and of course, Christmas is right around the corner. Lots of things to be done so I am trying to round up some Santa’s Helpers to take the strain off. But very tactfully and cautiously, born on the Fourth Of July she can be something of a firecracker!
Maybe all Cancerians in the world were grouchy yesterday, Sandi. Honoring your own little Cancerian and her discontent and desire to be done with it. Boy, can remember those days! Wishing you a beautiful new grandbaby soon!
Kathy, after having three daughters, I am more than content to just sit back, sympathize and think to myself, ” Thank God, it’s not me!” Thanks for your good wishes.
Sandi – I can well imagine that at 8 months pregnant — and the holiday season, to boot — Cameron’s main thought is, “Poke me with a fork ’cause I’m done!” Your Fourth of July those many years ago had to have had its own set of fireworks — namely, childbirth and delivery. Yowza! 🙂

I was reading Kathy’s blog and decided I had better come by and see what was going on. It is very weird not to be posting regularly but it does leave a bit more time to visit with everyone else.

Well Laurie, my wife Lucille’s beloved father Joseph Mancini, who passed at the age of 69 in 1994 (just a month before Lucille and started dating) was born on June 21, which is the very first day of Cancer. I did once meet Joe at a staging of ‘Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory’ that we co-directed at our school back in 1991. I distinctly recall Lucille putting a carnation on Joe’s suit before the show began. Lucille tells me her father was shrewd, cautious, protective, nurturing and a major homebody. He had two daughters, Lucille (48, a Sagitarian) and her older sister Elaine who is now 50, (Taurus) -Lucille always said that I would have gotten along famously with her Dad. I am after all, a Virgo (August 26)i
Sam – I love the way you described Lucille’s father. He sounds like he was a terrific man, and it’s obvious the nut didn’t fall very far from that tree with your wonderful Lucille 🙂

Okay I am late checking ths out. My oldest sister is a Cancer. I am a Taurus, so we usually get along even though there is a 10-year difference in our ages. The nurturing side of her was very evident when I was about 6 years old and nearly cut off my right big toe riding barefoot on the back of a bicycle. She took care of washing the cut and wrapping my toe up until my parents could get me to the emergency room. She did such a good job that the doctor in the emergency room said I did not need stitches and that just to keep it wrapped the way she had done it.
