Gemstone Affinities
Multi-tasking Gemini has a natural adroitness that’s enhanced by Charoite, bringing clarity and an awareness of what they create. This stone stimulates precise, analytic attention to detail, while at the same time it helps one to remain focused during chaotic situations. Amethyst calms and soothes the emotions and attunes Gemini to truth. Restless Gemini can be prone to nervous tension and Sugilite empowers the user to discover the unique gifts they’ve brought into this world, and provides an antidote to mental stress.

The Moon of Flowering (May 21 – Jun 20)
This period is one of creativity and perspective. This is the time to extend your perceptions beyond your senses and explore intuition. The influence is one of expansion.

Air Element
Gemini is an air element—intelligent, communicative, sociable, versatile, and unpredictable. They bring intellect and a strong ability to communicate.

Energetic, friendly, and playful, talkative air signs may well be described as “Chatty Cathy.” Air shapes ideas. This is the world of intellectual perception and logical thought. Air is the element of discernment and analysis, of comment and dissection. It’s the mental element that thinks things through, but also has bright flashes of intuition. The air element is inventive and full of new ideas. Air signs need to express themselves, for this is the element of communication.

A Mutable Sign
Gemini is an energetic, charismatic, communicative, witty, and individual with a child-like fascination with the world and with new experiences.

Zodiac Compatibility
Gemini in any relationship is smart, witty, fast, and fun, but they’re most compatible with Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius.

Famous Gemini’s
John F. Kennedy (May 29), Marilyn Monroe (Jun 1), and Morgan Freeman (Jun 1).

Do you have any Gemini’s in your life?

  1. My life partner is a Gemini. And the only descriptions that fit are you many references to thought. We’ve been married for almost twenty years–and I feel that I know him well. As well, his birthday is in the middle of June. I wonder what sign is influncing him? And how this sign (whatever it is) is a stronger influence than Gemini?

    • Leanne – I’m glad that at least something (references to thought) lined up. As to which sign is more of an influence to your husband…that would, indeed, depend on his actual date of birth. My next post will be about the zodiac sign of cancer. I hope you’ll let me know if that seems to be a better fit 🙂

  2. Hi Laurie – happily waving wildly at you today !!

No wonder I LOVE purple. And that love extends equally to Amethyst. “Talkative” actually has often felt like my bane; and I am ever working at listening more and dominating conversations less (as anyone who has spent time on a telephone with me, would attest to, my ability to talk & talk too much, GOL, winking, thanks for loving me enough to tolerate that “friends”).

Thank goodness !! Most compatible with Aries (my husband) and Leo (my darling daughter) !! The Sagittarius’ in my life have included my MIL (who I cherished until the day she died) and my youngest sister, who I have been close to, since her birth when I was 6 yrs old.

    Hugs –
    Deb

  3. My brother is a Gemini (June 15); he definitely is charismatic, witty, and loves to talk. He can talk for hours about the same subject. I wonder how the twins symbol affects his personality.

    • Barbara – As to the twins symbol…it’s been said that even when a Gemini is by themself, they always have someone to talk to (their “twin” self — sort of like an invisible friend). As for answering when it appears that no one else is around, Gemini’s are the few who can get away with it. The rest of us would be considered done gone round the bend

  4. Laurie, the A Mutable Sign for the Gemini IS our “energetic, charismatic, communicative, witty, and individual with a child-like fascination with the world and with new experiences” son, Noah. In fact, when I was pregnant with him they thought he was twins. He always jokes and says that he ate the other one. I was thrilled he was not a twin when he was little because he had so much “energy”. However, as an adult I wish we had one more Noah, becuase we would love having another extraordinary son, husband, father, brother and friend!

  5. Laurie, my brother David, is a Gemini. Like Barbara’s brother he loves to talk. He will even talk to my chickens, just because I talk to them doesn’t mean I expect others to. He is all of the above and then there is the Evil Twin. The one that lurks behind the kitchen door until you have taken a huge mouthful of orange juice and then jumps out screaming like a fighter jet. You know how the orange juice goes…everywhere. He jokes about Gemini people being born with their own alter-ego right on tap. He is without a doubt one of my favorite people to talk to because he can converse on practically any subject and is my go-to information desk when Google fails me.

    • Sandi – I can just picture David and “evil twin” antics 🙂 In the years I’ve known you, you’ve shared many fun and wonderful things about him. I love it that you BOTH talk to The Chicken Ladies. You know, that’s probably precisely why they lay the quality (and quantity) of eggs that they do!

  6. My oldest daughter and IT Girl was born on June 20th – women really like her and men are attracted to her stunning beauty and then seem to go the other way…they can not explain to their mother’s why they do not ask her out…:) but repeat that she is beautiful.

We call her our own personal Einstein…she is off the wall amazing and that is what her thesis committee thought too – a mathematician who writes beautifully. She is incredible silent…over whelming capable and artistic…Her best friend lives in Denmark.

She is destine to be very wealthy…but those men folk do not seem to hire her either….so she has a computer job at the help desk of a University and she should be at Pixar or Google….Very serious.

Her undergraduate faculty adviser would not work with her because she was a woman – even though headhunters from the U came after her to enroll – then they moved on and she did not get a penny of the funds offered to her and this sexist adviser instead.

She runs marathons and hikes and bikes and took me to UK for my 60th birthday and her 30th….She has always been a bit of a loner…

A psychic told me she would meet a man if she took up golf – be cause the men there are often richer, smarter, and better educated…

I don’t know…I wrote a whole post about her being a Vivaldi sort of woman…

Maybe it truly all is in the waist -hip ratio and the poor girl is very short waist-ed because she is missing a rib!

  7. My 18 month old baby girl is a Gemini, born on May 26th, and she is a talker! It is amazing to me the words she can say. She remembers most of them and repeats just about everything you say. Many have commented for months on how she seems to always know exactly what is going on around her. I am curious to see what other traits she will possess – she also loves to laugh!

    • Lisa – You crack me up! And because I know you personally, I can say with all confidence that for your size (itty-bitty), you pack a Powerfully Positive Punch — enough for two!

  8. Barry is a Gemini and this describes one side of him so well: thinking, communicating, witty, This is his newspaper editor side. He also has a side that is almost the polar opposite: quiet, introspective, non-intellectual. Most people think he is not a talker…however when the two of us are together he mostly talks and I listen. People are so fascinating. It’s interesting how astrology dances with it all.

    • Kathy – I’m glad the description captured a portion of Barry’s personality. My dad’s a Gemini and the “polar opposite side” of Barry that you shared, describes my dad to a tee.

  9. Hi Laurie….My sons, Matt and Jason are both Geminis. Very interesting post….I see different Gemini characteristics in them. Funny, I never thought of the color violet when it comes to either of them….I will have to add some into their lives! Thanks you for the thoughtful posts, now that I understand how to “blog”! 🙂

    • Lori – It’s great to see you here this morning. Knowing your sons, I can say with certainty that if you add a touch of violet in their rooms, you better head for the hills — fast!

  10. My oldest child, daughter Melanie (May 30) is a Gemini, as is my youngest child, son Jeremy (May 27). Melanie is personable and creative, while Jeremy seems heading down that path as well. And yes they do interact well with Sagitarious (my wife Lucille).

I hope you and Len have a great weekend Laurie!

    • Sam – You’ve got Gemini bookends! “Personable and creative” are great ingredients and go a long way toward making a house a home. I hope that you and yours have a wonderful weekend too, Sam. We woke up to a dusting of snow this morning 🙂

    • Sam – You guys were especially hammered by Old Man Winter last year. I’m crossing my fingers that he’s tied up elsewhere this year; maybe enjoying a cruise in the Bahamas 🙂

  11. Hi,
Oh Gemini, now that brings back some very nice memories. I had a fantastic boyfriend way back in my younger years who was a Gemini, and lets just say very fond memories. 🙂

  13. I have so many planets in Gemini that I’m far more Gemini than my Sun Sign of Cancer. (LeeAnne in comments – the Sun Sign is not the definitive description – you are a combo of your entire chart – which includes what planets in what houses, so you need to have a chart done. We are so not “just” our Sun Signs.)

The “talkative” Gemini in me has been a blessing and a curse. I’m great at presentations and teaching – but need duct tape on my mouth otherwise. I talk to (and have named) all my plants, my car, etc. and of course have dialogues with my two dogs all the time. I try to get talked out before hubs comes home. Sometimes it works. I also tend to make up words – like we don’t have enough in the dictionary!

Not sure about this but seems to me Gemini’s – some Gemini somewhere – is the creator of multi-tasking. And probably A.D.D. as well. Focus?
    It’s a goal!
    Hugs
    Suzen

    • SuZen – Your comment put a great BIG smile on my face. I could practically HEAR you speak the words. And while I’m a Libra, there’s been many occasions when Len would have paid a fortune to duct tape my mouth shut 🙂

  14. As a Geminian myself i found the ENTIRE description fits me very well !!… not only that , even some of your replies giving additional traits also matches well … for instance , you have said, in reply to Barbara Kass — ” As to the twins symbol…it’s been said that even when a Gemini is by themself, they always have someone to talk to (their “twin” self — sort of like an invisible friend). As for answering when it appears that no one else is around, Gemini’s are the few who can get away with it ” …. this is PROFOUNDLY true in my case !!!…. and I am pleasantly carried away by your wonderful analysis …. THANK YOU Laurie for such a good share !!!…. Take care , Have a Nice Christmas & New Year Experience with your Nears & Dears ! God Bless You !…

  15. Laurie, I’m a Gemini and proud of it. I like to say we are the most fun, because we always keep you guessing and its always exciting. I am right on the cusp (June 20) so I might see a little of the Cancer traits sometimes…but not the motherly ones.
Thanks for your wonderful descriptions of the signs. I am really enjoying reading them.
    🙂 Karin

  16. My grandparents were Geminis and they shared the same birthday, June 8, Grandfather being exactly one year older. It never occurred to me until I read your post that they were astrological twins! Between them they shared all the traits you highlighted. Grandmother, “a child-like fascination with the world and with new experiences” which was brought out by the minister at her funeral, and Grandfather, “the element of discernment and analysis, of comment and dissection.” His comments were few and far between, but when he spoke he offered the deepest of wisdom.
