Medical Astrology
Pisces rules the feet, toes, and lymphatic system.

Gemstone Affinities
Sensitive and intuitive, Pisceans swim through life as the mood takes them, responding to hidden emotional currents. Ruler Neptune is imaginative and mystical, but can lack protective boundaries, often making Pisces a “psychic sponge” that soaks up feelings and emotions from others. Azurite aids Pisces to cleanse these energies and create workable boundaries. It also provides a link between everyday reality and the psychic reality of the spiritual world—a world that Pisces is in tune with. Sapphire can also act as a bridge between the worlds. Blue Spinel imparts discernment and detachment, useful qualities for Pisceans.

The Moon of Brisk Winds (Feb 19 – Mar 20)
This period is one of activity and motion. This is a good time to remain flexible and avoid committing to long-term projects. The influence is one of flexibility.

Water Element
Pisces is a water element—sympathetic and imaginative. They bring emotional sensitivity and intuition to any situation.

The water signs are the intuitive dreamers of this world. Water shapes intuition and emotional experience, and is linked to the feeling and emotional world. The element of intuitive perception, Water signs are inward-looking and sensitive. This is a passive, rhythmic element that ebbs and flows. Water signs need time to withdraw, to process emotional experiences, and then to reemerge into the world.

A Mutable Sign
Very sensitive—Pisceans are receptive, intuitive, emotional, and romantic. They’re impressionable, mystical, adaptable, and like a chameleon, changeable.

Zodiac Compatibility
Pisces in any relationship is easy-going, creative, and caring, but they’re most compatible with Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn.

Famous Pisceans
Steve Jobs (Feb 24), Dr. Seuss (Mar 2), and Albert Einstein (Mar 14).

Do you have any Pisceans in your life?

  1. Don’t know any that I know of – hmmm, that sounds strange, lol. All my best friends in over 60 years have been Libra’s or Sag’s – my family is all either Taurus or Virgo and I’m on the cusp of Gemini/Cancer – truly a looney bird!
    Hugs
    Susan

  2. Hello from the world of all things PISCEAN. Yup, that’s me a true blue – or should I say aquamarine – fish swimming in two directions at the same time. With 4 planets in the sign, sun, mars, mercury and venus it just doesn’t get much more neptunean than that, well not unless the moon and rising sign there too, which mine aren’t.

As for the compatibility factor, ummmmmm I’ve not yet found a Virgo that I didn’t like. However with that said I have to admit that I have never been able to hone a good solid, long-lasting ‘compatible’ relationship (that didn’t eventually explode) with a Virgo either, same holds true for Caps. Now Taurus and I do mesh well as do I with those wonderful on-the-go Sagitarians and of course Cancereans and Pisceans blend together like a marble cake. But the best compatibility of all (for me) has to be withLibras.

The influence of the stars has always interested me Laurie, been studying it for many years (or according to one astrologer ‘lifetimes’). I find that there are just so many elements in the astrological forces at play and info varies from reader to reader and book to book. For instance, I never would have claimed Indigo as my power color, I much more go for aquamarine, sea green, blue greens.

Thank you for shedding new light.

  3. A Piscean had played a key role in my life. In fact, for much of my life I looked at him as a super hero. You’ve described my father to the letter, up to and including his over 50 year marriage to a Taurus–my mom. They truly lived happily-ever-after.

  4. My son is a Pisces, and–gosh, once again, I am really amazed at how well this describes him. He is very sensitive and compassionate and kind. Just got off the phone with him a few minutes ago. Just discovered a non-duality conference in La Jolla in late April and am feeling the zinging of possibility that the Pisces and me might possibly (you never know) re-unite. Thank you for sharing this, Laurie.

  5. I can not think of a Pisces in my life right now? But this description touches me and describes much of my feeling about myself. I am so drawn to water and blue….have to ward off others feelings…hmmm

I was born on the cusp between Leo and Virgo at 8am in the morning, the first surgery arranged by my Mother’s doctor for the day. I had a huge cancerous tumor attached to my chest and they felt it best to not let it get any bigger (before ultra-sound etc. – and no C-sections allowed at the only hospital – Catholic – around) I have had several readers become confused when reading my signs….being a 9 seems to be a better spot for me to focus.

I think I should find a Pisces friend!

    • Patriciayes, Yes, YES — you would do well to cultivate a Piscean friend. Your Leo/Virgo cusp birth is interesting…I can well imagine that natal chart readers (and others) would be confusing.

      • I do not know any readers right now and I am not so convinced by the Internet ads…I also feel in the middle of a big change – as though a whole new aspect of my self is releasing…I feel hard to read all around.

I am upset with being so STUCK with this weight loss work…but that brings me back to my steel cut oatmeal and cup of frozen blueberries – my daily morning feast I hate to miss – your photograph is stunning

      • Patricia – By any chance do you happen to know your blood type? The reason I ask is that steel cut oats may not be the best choice for you. For instance, you might be better of with Quinoa (pronounced Keen-wah). Being the literary person that you are, you may want to check out the book, “Eat Right 4 Your Type” by Dr. Peter J. D’Adamo. I’d be curious to know your thoughts 🙂

      • O positive
We eat a great deal of Quinoa here…and flax seeds…

I will check out the book – Thank you
My father was from Scotland and my mum from England via Canada…Oatmeal or Cream of Wheat has been in my bowl nearly every morning of my life…!
It makes me feel good – especially with the blueberries on top!

      • Patricia – I’m glad you’re a quinoa (and flax seed) person, they’re oh-so-healthy. And I understand about the oatmeal with bueberries on top — it’s like heating a great big warm hug!

  6. No close Pisces friends or family and oddly, that seems to be the only sign not represented in my sphere. Love this series you are doing–thanks!

  7. Hi,
Years ago I went out with a Pisces, a very nice guy, but we were definitely not good together. At the moment I haven’t got any friends that are Pisces, and no Pisces in the family either.

  8. Laurie, although you have described the Piscean personality, you have also described my daughter Faith who was born March 24. I suppose that would have her straddling the Picses/Aries cusp. But she sure seems like a Pisces, especially with the Indigo color, she feels certain that she is an Indigo Child. I can attest to the fact that seems to be very much an “old soul”. The fact that she choose reflexology as a first career makes sense to me know.

    • Sandi – Because of her date of birth (March 24), Faith may well have a significant Piscean influence. We’ll have to see how well she does/doesn’t match up to the Ariean description. She might just be a beautiful blend of both 🙂

  9. Hi, Laurie — my father was a Pisces and I think his true sensitive nature was too much for him to handle. He went through 3 wars and was married to a histrionic personality (my mother). His gentle and loving side was evident for me untl he went to Vietnam, but after he came home, he was no longer the father I knew. He was cold, silent, and unavailable. He still managed to connect with animals at a level that was veryshamanic. They flocked to him. Literally. He trained the birds at our house to arrive at a certain time each day because he spread out bird seed for them. I watched it happen one time and it was just like the move “The Birds.” He walked outside to the back yard and stood still. Within five minutes the trees and the fence were full of sparrows waiting patiently. He died in 1996 and I wish I had known him better.

    • Barbara – The connection your father had with animals sounds utterly amazing. He may have been numbed to people after atrocious war-type experiences, but he had that animal connection where he could just “be.” I, too, wish you’d had the opportunity to know him better. Another time, another place…

  10. My dad is a Pisces and taught me by example compassion and kindness, for animals as well as humans. When our cat was hit by a car when both my parents were working, I scooped him into my arms to get him out of the road because he was still breathing. My sister ran inside to call Dad at work and he came right home, arriving just as Butterscotch died in my arms by the side of the road. Dad comforted both of us and answered all our questions as best he could. Questions like, how could anyone hit a cat and not stop to see if it was all right? It was one of those moments in life when I was struck by the compassion he possessed that allowed him to drop everything at work to come home and patiently help his young daughters cope with a great loss.
