Please note that certain 2’s, 4’s, and 6’s have a “Master Number” associated with their Life Path number; respectively 11, 22, and 33. In Numerology, this is the equivalent to a “special mission” they’ve been sent to fulfill. I’ll cover the Master Numbers at the end of the single-digits, 1-9.

LIFE PATH 2
The Path of the Cooperator

As the perfect companion, you’re the ideal mate, spouse, partner, friend, or employee. For this reason, it’s best to follow the well-trodden path and leave the trailblazing to others. You can profit by their mistakes and wisely make the necessary corrections as you go along.

Disharmony and unpleasant situations disturb you greatly, therefore you go out of your way to keep peace and to calm troubled waters. Your concern and consideration for others bring you a host of friends who you appreciate and treasure. Two outstanding traits that count heavily toward the attainment of anything you desire are your diplomacy and tact. You do things so gracefully that there’s never much of a problem in getting your own way.

The keynote of your success is cooperation—therefore, you’re most successful when completing the plans or executing the directives of others who are less capable of handling the organization and detail. It’s best not to attempt to originate ideas or businesses on your own.

Always agreeable, charming, and friendly, you impress people immediately. You draw out the silent and give solace to the troubled. As a result, you go through life with great grace. Calm and intelligent, you master any group or environment without friction. You need never lack for the finer things in life, even though you’re not aggressive.

Your great power of concentration and cooperation draw to you without much effort the rewards that others have to search for. This rhythm is vital to your contentment.

You have an unusual spirit of independence that makes you the perfect companion, yet completely self-sufficient if you need to be. You can easily and most satisfactorily take over the business responsibilities when left in charge, or those of the household when your partner is elsewhere. You prefer to act in concert with a partner, employer, or companion, where your duty is to carry out their directives. However, this same sense of cooperation and understanding also makes you quite efficient in whatever you undertake in a managerial capacity. Yet, in most cases, your successes lie in assisting rather than in directing. Should an idea in its raw state be presented to you, you’ll bring it to life and make it workable. This is a good quality to have since much of your life will be spent in the employ of others.

It’s in your nature to readily forgive and understand, which again, makes you the perfect companion. Should there be trouble within your marriage or partnership, chances are you’ll be the one to make sacrifices or compromises in order to overcome it. The great powers you have been endowed with allow you to forgive any transgression on the part of your mate or partner, but you must take care to avoid being so forgiving that transgressions become a habit on their part.

The Life Path 2 suggests that you entered this plane with a spiritual quality in your makeup allowing you to be one of the peacemakers in society. Your strengths come from an ability to listen and absorb. You’re a fixer, a mediator, and a very diplomatic type of person using persuasive skills rather than forcefulness to make your way in the world. When you embrace and exhibit the strength of your spiritual side, you’re intuitive, avant-garde, idealistic, and visionary. These extremes make you interesting with much to offer society. You have the potential to be a deep-thinker, and no doubt interested in understanding many of life’s mysteries and more intriguing facets.

If you’re living with the positive attributes of the number 2 Life Path, you’re apt to have the most delicate ability to be balanced and fair. You clearly see the full spectrum of viewpoints in any argument or situation. Because of this, people seek you out to be a mediator. In this role, you’re able to settle disputes with the most unbiased flair. There’s sincere concern for others; you think the best of people and want the best for them. You’re honest and open in thought, word, and deed. You excel in any form of group activity where your expertise in handling and blending people can be used effectively. Manners and tact mark your way with others, and you’re not one to dominate a group or situation. You’re the master of compromise and of maintaining harmony in your environment. As the ultimate team member, you never demand praise or recognition.

In many ways, you’re a creature of habit and routine—you like your path and pattern well worn and familiar. Your ability to analyze and render accurate judgments is a wonderful natural trait you bring to the business world. You strive for complete accuracy and even perfection in your work. Perhaps you’re not a leader, but you’re a visionary and a very talented idea person.

The Shadow Side
Negatively, in your effort to please you can too easily be influenced against your better judgment. You can also be moody and undecided, not to mention oversensitive. There are times when your uncertainty allows others to get the best of you, and this can make you resentful.

On the negative side, nervous energy is a trait often observed in the Life Path 2. Because of this, you may be seen as an extremist who’s sometimes the zealot in expressing likes and dislikes. Nervous tension can bring the normally easygoing 2 into a state of emotional outrage, which to those around you, may seem well out of character. Indeed, the 2 can sometimes become oversensitive. In some instances, the strength of the 2 can also become its weakness. At times you may find it hard to decide what to do. Twos often struggle against indecisiveness. Making decisions and getting your rear in gear—so to speak—may be a challenge. There’s a tendency for the many 2s to harbor feelings of uneasiness, and dissatisfaction with accomplishments and personal progress in life. The biggest obstacle and difficulty you may face is that of passivity and a state of apathy and lethargy. The negative 2 flirts with pessimism. When this sets in to any degree, you accomplish very little. If you’re living on the negative side of the 2, you may lack common sense, and you’re quite often unable to distinguish between fantasy and reality.

Even the more positive individuals with the 2 Life Path prefer a more amiable and less competitive environment, often shunning the business world. You can best serve society in endeavors utilizing your skills of counseling and guidance. Much of your idealism is people-oriented and quite humanitarian in nature. You expect a great deal of yourself.

Famous People with Life Path 2
Julie Andrews, Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Bacon, Kim Basinger, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Tony Bennett, Orlando Bloom, Pierce Brosnan, Mariah Carey, Bill Clinton, Jamie Lee Curtis, John Cusack, Judi Dench, Robert Downey, Jr., Vince Gill, Woopi Goldberg, Al Gore, Woody Harrelson, Ashley Judd, Lisa Kudrow, Jessica Lange, Queen Latifah, Jay Leno, Susan Lucci, Madonna, Ann Margaret, Jane Pauley, Michelle Pfeiffer, Regis Philbin, Rene Russo, Meg Ryan, Paul Simon, and Wesley Snipes.

Life Path 2 Compatibility
The Life Path 2 person has a natural fit with Life Paths 2, 4, and 8. They get along well with Life Paths 3 and 6. They’re neutral with Life Path 9’s. But they find a challenge (or need to compromise) with Life Paths 1, 5, and 7.

  2. My son Sammy is a Life Path 2, and he is both a creature of routine on the positive side and an exxhibitor of some nervous energy on the debit. Again, the meticulous delineation of the qualities of the sign are fascinating. It is will be most interesting to make comparisons as we move along.

    • Sam – The other day when you posted a comment with your family’s numbers, I think Sammy was listed as a Life Path 1. Hmmmmm, now you’ve really got my curiosity piqued 🙂

  3. OK, I sat down yesterday and figured out my whole family. Barry is a 6 (a double 3…special guy) and Christopher is a 9
    and Kiah is a 3.

And I am a 4–I thought it was a double two, but in re-figuring it is absolutely clear that I am an ordinary person with no special life purpose to fulfill. lol!

Looking forward to the next installments.

    • KathyBarry’s a 33? Those are rare, indeed. I promise to cover 11, 22, and 33 — Master Numbers — when I get to the end of the single digit Life Paths 1-9.

      You’ve got quite the household with a 3, 4, 9, and 33!

      In our household we cover the odds: Len’s a 1, Eoghan’s a 3, and I’m a 5.

  4. Hi, Laurie — I am not a 2 but this makes for very interesting reading! I keep finding out people’s birthdates and calculating their numbers. I am a 6, January is a 5 and so is Jonathan (no wonder those two get along so well AND January wants to be an explorer!). My daughter Bethany is an 8. It will be a couple of weeks until I get to find out about 5’s, 6’s, and 8’s and I am very much looking forward to it.

    • Barbara – I’m so glad you find this interesting, I do too. Have your friends and co-workers started ducking behind doors yet when they see you coming with a pencil and paper in your hands? Most people enjoy having their Life Path number calculated – as long as you can provide the interesting details.

As a 5 myself, I’m a in good company with January and Jonathan. I know some pretty cool 8’s – my mom was one.

  5. Very interesting. For the most part it does describe me pretty well. Except for the routine and none business part. For the most part, I don’t like routine. And I like to have my own business but I don’t mind working for others who are not controlling or micro-managers. Currently, I am living in the shadow part. Hopefully, the light will shine soon. I can’t wait to read what my master number 11 is about and the special life purpose it has for me. Thanks for sharing… this is very enlightening. 🙂

  6. Wow, this describes Tim to a “T”! Calm and intelligent, the perfect companion. He likes being the right-hand man, not the boss. I had to laugh at this sentence: “You clearly see the full spectrum of viewpoints in any argument or situation.”

It made me think of when our kids were small – whenever a group of tattling children approached him with their complicated stories of who did what to who, and why or why not this or that action was justified, he would patiently sit there and listen to it all, and sort it all out somehow. And calmly explain to each child whether what he or she did in the situation was helpful or hurtful. Apologies were required and amends were made and peace would be restored. It always amazed me!

  7. Hi Laurie, our youngest son is a 2 and I was very much looking forward to reading this….especially after the surprisingly accurate (uncanny, actually) fit with Rick and his Life Path 1 characteristics.

Once again, so much resonates. Co-operation and concentration drawing much to you without great effort. A fixer, mediator, balanced, fair. Most everything that you have described here is a part of his character and personality. Including shadow aspects that he has been working through in this lifetime. Very interesting! He has just left a high stress, high responsibility management position in the city and moved to the Island where he is going to be teaching what he loves at the local university.

Looking forward to 4 and 9.

And what is also very fascinating to me is that this wouldn’t “fit” the rest of us much at all but is so perfectly him 🙂

    • Colleen – I’m glad that you saw distinct similarities with your youngest son and the Life Path 2 description. Two’s tend to be great folks! Life Path 4 and 9 are comin’ down the pike. Stay tuned…

Oh, and remember if the Life Path 4 was initially a 22 before you reduced it a final time to the single digit 4, then you’ll not only be interested in reading about Life Path 4, but Master Number 22. I’ll wrap up this series with Master Numbers 11, 22, and 33.

  8. Laurie, when I added up my daughters number’s I was totally shocked to learn that Missy was a 2 or an 11, I suppose. I can seeing Missy inciting a riot, leading a mob or maybe planning a bank heist but on the other hand she is a lot of fun to be with. She never fails to crack me up with her outrageous stories and her laid-open-to the-bone take on life. If I hadn’t been there at the time I would swear up and down that she wasn’t mine, and the fact that she has her father’s eyes. Cameron on the other hand is a 2, straight across the board. So here I am with 2 .. 2’s and don’t know what to make of either on of them. Very interesting and has me looking closer at their life patterns.

    • Sandi – BOTH (?!) Missy and Cameron are 2’s (with Missy being an additional Master Number of 11)? – Holy Mackarel Andy! What’s Faith’s Life Path number? And curiously, what’s Joey’s?

      • Sandi – I’m not surprised in the least that Faith, as a Life Path 6, is on The Path of the Teacher. Joey (as a Life Path 7) is on The Path of the Loner. Please don’t take that in a negative context. Life Path 7s are amazing people as you’ll see in a week or so when we cross that numeric bridge 🙂

  9. Thank you for this very enlightening information. I was fascinated by how much I recognized myself in the description of Life Path 2! Seeing this helps me to accept things about myself that I sometimes struggle with, and better understand my strengths and weaknesses with love and compassion. 6/23/1971 = 2000 = 2

  10. OK so I wrote to the friend who knows me best and said – I am supposedly a 5 – I don’t think this is me at all what do you think? Her reply “ok you are joking aren’t you? paras 1,2 3 6 7 9 10 describe you to a T – as guesses go I would say 7 out of 10 ain’t bad!”

I will have to adjust my view of myself. Can’t wait to read my husbands 11 when it comes out because 2 is just so him.

  11. Jennifer Aniston has life path 2?? I am with life path 11 that is 2. I thought I would never become rich because of my life path. But after knowing that Aniston has path 2, I am having a hope to become rich :-). Thank you for posting this. Can life path 11 do well in business???

    • SS – As it relates to getting rich…

Master Number 11’s (also Life Path 2’s) are typically more interested in abundance than prosperity. Abundance being inner wealth, prosperity being the accumulation of material items.

You asked, “Can Master Number 11’s do well in business?”

Master Number 11’s can do well at anything they set their heart and mind to.

  12. My old boss’ 3rd wife is a Life Path 2, she was/is exactly like what you’ve described! And my old boss’ Life Path is 1, so he leads and she just follows…

    Vivienne X

  13. I find it fascinating that two of the most stable people in my life are Life Paths that your calculated chart says are the “most challenging” and I (as a Life Path 2) am by no means a follower of any kind…Interesting. Again, thank you for the illumination.

    • Serious2020 — The whole point (of anything) is to embrace what resonates with you and let the rest fall by the wayside. Cultivate and nurture your life with what you know to be positive, uplifting, constructive, and healing for you (not what somebody else dictates).
