Emerald Eyes, Isles, and Stones

Raw Emerald

One of my friends, Donna Jill Witty, recently returned from North Carolina where part of her time was spent gem mining near Ashville. Much to my surprise and delight, she gifted me with three raw pieces: emerald, sapphire, and citrine. Since green is my favorite color, emerald is the gemstone that I chose to highlight in this post.

But first, please follow this LINK so that I can introduce you to Donna Jill Witty and her amazing artwork. I’m tickled to share that she was featured in the current (summer 2010) edition of the American Artist Watercolor magazine. The article, Mixing Careful Planning with Spontaneity, starts on page 42.

Emerald
The frequency of Emerald is said to enhance harmony, joy, cleansing, abundance, clairvoyance, memory, and faith. It provides inspiration and helps those in need of balance, healing, and infinite patience. It also benefits intuition, intellect, communication, decision-making, and promotes truthfulness and honesty. It motivates the possessor to give love and wisdom to others. Emerald is used to enhance intuitive awareness and to bring forth manifestation. It’s a stone of protection and is associated with the heart chakra.

  1. What a lovely gift from a friend! Emerald energy sounds so healing and encompassing. I am seeing an emerald light encompass the planet. (Donna’s artwork truly is amazing. Wonderful that you highlighted her.) Have a good emerald Sun-day.

  2. My birthday is in May, Laurie, and emerald is my birthstone. I can testify to its power: all of the attributes it supports are exactly the same ones I need help with. Right now, I am totally green with my friend the Envy Monster. I went to Donna’s site and viewed her work. All of the ones I liked were sold! She has exquisite talent.

  3. Wow! I could use some emerald energy right now. I do have a piece of jade which I have had close to me sense being in this self acceptance mode !
What a wonderful gift to be gifted with!

    • Jeff – Jade is beyond phenomenal. If it’s not too big, I suggest keeping it with you — as close to skin contact as possible. For people who have itty-bitty pieces of stone and are afraid they’ll lose them, I suggest placing it your belly-button and then keeping it there with a piece of medical tape (so it won’t hurt when you remove it).

  4. Good Morning,
Great story about the Emerald. I think I too can use some of this power of the emerald gem.
I feel like I have been gone from our group here for such a long time.
Time does not stand still and life goes on even if you are not involved where you usually show up.
While I was away from all of you.
Sarah got married, wonderful, beautiful wedding.
Matthew took his first flight lesson.

I registered and start school on Monday, Nevada School Law.
I am pre diabetic for real, and start a drink shake program for a week coming up Monday.
and my oldest cat Ripples crossed over yesterday.
Life is short even if you live long.
Here is a poem I find on facebook this morning I would like to share with you, sorry there was no author to credit.

    The heart and soul,
    communicate by feeling
and when you listen to them
    there is no ceiling.

Donna Jill Witty is a wonderful artist.
Thank you for sharing her work with us.
Well I think that catches everyone up with me for now.
On a more personal note, I too wish we all lived closer to each other. I think it would be soooo much fun for all of us to plan a trip to visit Laurie and Len.
    Keep inspired,
    ~Jean

    • Jean – Congratulations to Sarah on her wedding, and to Matthew for his first flying lesson (Len’s a pilot and I remember well the day he got is license). You’re going to start attending the Nevada Law School?! WOW — that’s fantastic. Congratulations! Today is Monday and you start your shake program today. Please keep us posted on how it’s going. Thank you for sharing the poem your found on Facebook. I also resonate with what you said, “Life is short even if you love long.” Well said.

I agree with you that Donna Jilly Witty is a wonderful artist. As are you.

      • Okay, I didn’t say that right.
Today I strat school, my class is “Nevada School Law” am not in law school.
Sorry for any misunderstanding on that.
Shake starts tomorrow. 1000 cal a day, 3 shakes, 2 snacks.
I’m also in a diabetes class that meets once a month. All life changing stuff.
Anyways, just trying to stay above the tree tops.
        ~Jean

      • Jean – I hope it’s all going extremely well, class and shakes. 1,000 calories a day is not very many — that’s just for a week, right? Sort of a “jump-start-the-process” kind of approach?

  5. Laurie,

I usually try to keep the jade in my right pants pocket. I usually to carry change so it fits there nicely, it is oval or round in shape and about 3 inch across.
The Belly Bottom idea is cool!

    I am Love, Jeff

  6. Do I detect a hidden message here that one should carry Green Licorice in one’s belly button? I don’t need that, born & bred in “The Emerald Isle”, but I might just do it anyway, cause it’s such a whacky idea & tickels my fancy. See, Bet you didn’t know that the idea of green licorice in my navel would tickle my fancy. Just discovered that myself . I’m getting frumiouser & frumiouser

    • Mike – This is a classic example of the game “gossip.” A message starts out one way, and ends up completely and totally different. NO LICORICE of any color — in your belly button. Small crystals — yes 🙂
