MASTER NUMBER 11
The Path of the Dreamer
Master Number 11 is a highly charged version of the Life Path 2. All of the characteristics that apply to a 2 also apply to an 11, only in a more magnified way.
As a Master Number 11, you have the potential to be a source of inspiration and illumination to a wide brushstroke of people. Individuals with this Life Path rely on their instinct—they’re intuitive. In fact, you’re the most intuitive of all numbers. It’s your special connection to your subconscious, gut feeling, and knowledge without rationality. You’re energetically sensitive and have a great understanding of others. You intuit a great deal about what’s going on behind the scenes. You’re here to use your gifts of intuition and sensitivity to help others.
Because the number 11 has all the qualities of the 2 (1 + 1 = 2) the negative points of the number—anxiety, shyness, and stressed energy—are balanced out by the 2’s qualities of charisma and divine inspiration.
The Shadow Side
Remember it’s a choice—we can choose to walk in sunhine or shadow; in light or dark.
When not focused on a goal beyond themselves, the Master Number 11 person can be turned inward—creating fears and phobias. The 11 walks the edge between greatness and self-destruction. Your potential for growth, stability, and personal power lies in your acceptance of intuitive understanding, and of spiritual truths. For the 11, such peace is not found so much in logic, but in faith.
The danger of the 11 is that you need to be focused on a concrete goal—when you’re not attached to a specific aspiration, you experience anxiety and fear. You’re extremely powerful and capable of great things, but can also be self-sabotaging when not using the highly charged vibration of 11 correctly.
If you’re a Master number 11, tap into it and use it to create personal power and spiritual evolution. Don’t deny your instincts—let your inner, guiding voice push you toward a great goal.

I actually can envision phobias as a shadow side of one with acute intuitive abilities. That quite a lineup of people who certainly commanded personal power in their spheres.
Whale Point is magnificent!

Laurie, I’ve been saving all of the Life Path number posts into one document, and I am really grateful to you for putting this information out there. I have been wanting to study more about numerology for some time now, and I really appreciate this wealth of information!
Householder Yoga - I’m so glad you’ve found benefit at Speaking from the Heart . I do hope you’ll visit regularly.
I recognize these characteristics within myself, both the illuminated and shadow sides. The two sides can even walk together at times. As Sam said, the photo is lovely. I can feel the “Number 11″ energy of the waves!
Kathy – I, too, see both sides. One can’t appreciate shadow without light, and one can’t appreciate light without shadow.
I was so excited to read this write up because my sister, my brother, and one of my children is a 29/11 I can see some similarities to your write up and also some great gaps…I went back and read 2
The hot and cold part rings true…my sister is anxious and extremely abusive to me (verbally) and my brother is either an amazing person who covered up by being a closet alcoholic or dislikes himself so much he is just a fool with money and trying to buy friends and appear wonderful…
I am more interested in this for my child, because I think there is hope for her to turn out wonderful, but she is so incredibly awful to me…and just okay with money.
They are all so afraid I am trying to control them and of people controlling them???
I feel like this only barely touches the surface of what I want to know.
Thanks for sharing this
Patricia – It was my pleasure to share this here. There’s much more to know, this was just a thumbnail sketch – the tip of the iceburg, so to speak.
This is amazing. It is very much me. What is also interesting is that my birth month is 11
Ann – Ahhhhhh, you’ve certainly got some significant elevening (is that a word?) going on!
I can remember thinking–won’t it be wonderful to be a master number. After reading this, however, I’m glad I’m not. It’s just way too intense. : )
Leanne – I agree wholeheartedly!
Hi, Laurie, I am with Leanne, things are pretty intense already for me, no point in adding fuel to the fire. This is where I jump off the train! Still, very interesting to know. We have a lovely full moon shining down and I have singing cats in my back yard. Sounds like Spring to me. BTW, not my cats.
Sandi – I’m with you and Leanne. Let me just walk on the sunny side of Life Path 5 and please don’t throw any additional challenges my way.
Hi Laurie,
My birthday is July 7, 1986. With some life path calculations, I get a life path of 11; but with others, I get a life path of 2. I’m not sure which one I am, but honestly, every life path 11 description I have read is completely accurate of me – I am extremely intutive and very spiritual and want to be a life coach to inspire people to live their potential. I haven’t really been able to relate to descriptions of life path 2 as much as 11 – because I’m very introspective and prefer solitary contemplation. I was just wondering if you could tell me what you think my life path number is – 2 or 11 – and which way is the correct way of calculating life path number. Thank you so much.
- RJ
RJ – With the birth date of 07-07-1986 you are, indeed, a Master Number 11.
It’s good to remember that Master Number 11 also shares the traits of a Life Path 2. Likewise, Master Number 22 shares the traits of Life Path 4, and Master Number 33 shares the traits of Life Path 6.
Can we be able to get rid of shyness ??
or will it be there permanently ?
i want to get rid of it badly !
Sumit – Just because something’s written in our Life Path number (or Zodiac sign, for that matter) doesn’t mean that it’s our fate/destiny. If there’s an aspect of you that you’d like to change or overcome, then by all mean — apply yourself to the task. Nothing is written in stone (so to speak).
Many people are familiar with my personal philosophy: “Whatever you are not changing, you are choosing.” Again, if there’s something you want to change, then so be it
Just get rid of it!!! We are the only ones that can. You just have to let it go and say goodbye to it!!
Hi Laurie, I just stumbled onto your numerology posts and was blown away by how accurately they seem to describe me (and my partner)! Thank you for this wealth of information. I hope I can channel this newfound knowledge and stay on the “brighter” side of my Life Path 11! Cheers!
Dana – You being a Master Number doesn’t surprise me in the least
If got the same type of information out there for all of the Zodiac signs as well. If you reply with your sign, I’ll send you a link right to it.
Beat you to it, Laurie! I checked out the Cancer info last night as well and thought “Me to a TEE” once again.
Dana – I’m glad you found it and that it resonates
I’ve read some reports that say I’m a 2 but also others that say I am an 11. I honestly don’t know, haha!! I feel I’m more 11 only b/c I’m extremely psychic and have had a difficult life &, I’ve always been interested in humanitarian efforts. Anyway, my birth date is 11-29-79. What do you think? Thanks again.
Oops 11-28-79!
Kylie – You’re a Master Number 11. Here’s how you do the math:
11 + 28 + 1979 = 2018. Now this number needs to be reduced:
2 + 0 + 1 + 8 = 11
Oh, thanks so much!
I don’t get why some people feel they need to reduce every number that isn’t a master number. When you do it this way, I appear to be a 2 like on http://seventhlifepath.com/ Makes no sense to me, but this does, thanks.
)!!
Hi – thanks so much for posting this, it describes everything to a ‘T’. I do feel very lost all the time, and a lot of this is making sense as to why. A friend of mine the other day text me that she wanted to see what life path number I am and said I’m 11 (I confirmed on my own as well). I read also that 11s are late bloomers and do not really reach where they want to be until between ages 35-45? Is this true?
Shauna – Any of the Master Numbers (11, 22, and 33) have a tendency to be late bloomers, with 11 being a bit more likely to fall into this category.
Please note: “late bloomer” is not a negative thing, at all. In fact, people, places, and things that bloom late tend to outlast the rest of us
Yes it is! I’m 46 and just now, i get it! It’s like i have awakened… And I understand now why i went through all i did.
It’s really incredible.
And if you come to think about it we are the only ones that can understand us, cause nobody else can!
Pamela – Your response put a great big, face-splitting grin on my face
I think it is important to note that although one may get the opportunity to attain the power of a master number (from a life path calculation), from my experience, few will display it. It indeed is a double edged sword as you describe and only a select few go on to demonstrate its full capacity and rather live a 2 vibration.
Peace,
David (18/06/1985)
David – As a Master Number 11, I see you speak with the voice of experience. Welcome to my blog – I hope you’ll come back again.
